Donald Hudson, 93 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.
Don was born December 17, 1922 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Kepler and Lillie Hudson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Kevin McCormac . Burial will follow at the Palestine Cemetery.
Survivors include niece, Elaine Howell of Graham, NC, niece, Kay Hatley of Albemarle, cousin, Gordon Springer of Albemarle, and his companion, friend and honey bun for over 20 years, Lillie K. Drye of Albemarle.
Don was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and was a member of the Stanly County D.A.V. Chapter 12 ritual team where he participated by playing taps at the cemetery services of fellow veterans. He was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and was very close to the Lillie Drye family.
Memorials may be made to Palestine United Methodist Church or Hospice of Stanly County.
