Donald Love

Donald "Donnie" Eugene Love, 57, of Stanfield, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home in Stanfield.

Donnie was born October 9, 1964 in Tampa, FL to the late Robert Allen Love Sr. and Dorothy Lorraine Tompkins.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Melbourne and Jocelyn Love of Stanfield; maternal grandparents, Brandt and Edna Harding of Tampa, FL.

Survivors include mother, Lorraine Tompkins of Polkton, NC; brother, Robert Love, Jr (Kay) of Stanfield; sister, Laurie Shepherd of Waxhaw; nephew, David Love of Stanfield; nieces, Jessica Love of Stanfield and Sara Shepherd of Waxhaw.

Donnie worked as a warehouseman at J J Taylor Distributors in Tampa until moving to NC in 2011. He then worked at Radiator Specialty in Charlotte and The Family Dollar Distribution Center in Matthews.  Donnie was an avid sports fan. He particularly enjoyed following college and professional football as well as NASCAR. Donnie loved being outdoors, whether working in his yard, tinkering with small engines or helping his mom on her farm.  He could often be found next to his grill or smoker trying out a new recipe or technique.

A graveside memorial service to celebrate Donnie's life will be held at 2:00pm, on Sunday, December 26th at Love's Chapel UMC Cemetery in Stanfield.
