Donald Matthews

Donald Robert Matthews, 62, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving friends and family. Donald was born November 24, 1951 in Akron, Ohio to the late John Matthews and the late Mary Ann Matthews . He was also preceded in death by brother, Richard Matthews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Bill Baldwin. Survivors include wife, Stacey Hunsucker Matthews of the home; daughter, Leslie (fiance, Chris Bodman) Greenwood of Charlotte; sons, Phillip (Deann) Matthews of Concord, Wesley (fiancee, Amy Lefler) Alley and Nathaniel Alley both of Albemarle; seven grandchildren; former wife, Patricia (David) Ahwesh of Charlotte; and former son-in-law, Colby Greenwood. The family will be meeting at his home. Friends and family are invited to come by at any time.
