Donald Phillips

Donald Wayne "Cowboy" Phillips, 76 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014.

Cowboy was born August 8, 1938 in Rice Landing, Pennsylvania to the late Scott Phillips and the late Margaret Teagarden Phillips.

He was a friend and helper to all who knew him. If you ever had a chance to meet him, you would walk away with a new friend. Wayne loved the outdoors and had a special connection to his horses and other animals. He was a modern day cowboy who many have said over the years that he was born 100 years too late. Wayne loved the simple life.

Wayne leaves behind two sons and a daughter, all of Pennsylvania; as well as a brother, a sister and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by all his friends on Old Sandbar Road.

A memorial service will take place at a later time in Pennsylvania, officiated by his son, John Phillips.
