Donald Power

Donald Paul Power, age 80 of Locust, NC passed away on January 17, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. The service will be held Friday, January 21st at Annunciation Catholic Church 416 North 2nd Street, Albemarle, NC at 11 AM with the burial following at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends after the burial. Father Peter Fitzgibbons will officiate the services. Military honors will be performed by Stanly County DAV. Mr. Power was born in Boston, MA on August 20, 1930 to the late Joseph and Julia Power. Mr. Donald Paul Power is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nina Mae Cody Power of the home; his sons, Joe Power of Locust, Bill Power of New Britain, CT; his daughters, Julia Aten and husband Kirk of Locust, Judie Trudel and husband Mike of Stanfield; his brother, Joe Power of Boston, MA; his grandchildren, Leah Morrissette, Bryant Morrissette, Ryan Morrissette, Caitlin Pyrek, Kody Aten, and Nicole Pyrek. The family will be meeting at the home of his daughter, Judie Trudel, 8315 Harvell Road, Stanfield, NC. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215, or to St. Jude Children’s Research 6000 Fairview Road #648, Charlotte, NC 28210.
