Donald Treadaway, Sr.

Donald C. Treadaway, Sr. 83, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

Mr. Treadaway was born July 31, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Coleman Jefferson Treadaway and the late Julia SteinTreadaway. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald C. Treadaway, Jr.

Donald was a US army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family dearly and was an avid fisherman. Donald was married to Jean for 63 years and was a very successful entrepreneur. He was the founder of D & J Carpet and Floor Cleaning. Donald was a member of Highland Baptist Church of New London.

Friends are invited to pay their respects from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Due to COVID restrictions, the family will not be present. However, friends will be permitted to convey their condolences.

Survivors include wife, Jean Treadaway of Albemarle; son, Frank Treadaway and wife Wendy of Albemarle; grandchildren; Karrie Hobbs, Devin Treadaway, Jena Buchanon, Misty Fontana, and Chad Treadaway; fourteen great-grandchildren; and beloved pet, Ginger.
