Donna Stokes

Donna Mae Bennett Stokes, 61, of 37702 Hwy 52 N, New London, NC passed away on June 24, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 1 pm until 2 pm. Services will be at 2 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Ron Huneycutt will officiate. At other times the family will be meeting in the home. Mrs. Stokes was born September 18, 1949 in Fayette County, West Virginia to the late Ira Kenneth and Ruby Marie Berry Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, John B. Bogges. Donna was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and a cashier at Sun Plaza. Mrs. Stokes is survived by her husband, Samuel Kendall Stokes of the home; one daughter, Donna Jean Stokes of Newnan, GA; two sons, Samuel Kenneth Stokes, IV of Albemarle, Patrick O’Brian Stokes of Gaffney, SC; one brother, Ira Kenneth Bennett, Jr. of West Virginia; three sisters, Connie Starcher of Albemarle, Jean Wayne, Joan Fitzpatrick both of West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Heaven , Summer, Sebastian, Zaely, Lilly, Tyler, Rider, Cecilie; special family, Sharon, Debra, and Jennifer as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
