Donna Sullivan

December 28, 1935 — November 5, 2014

Donna M. Sullivan, 78, of Midland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 as a result of complications due to a long-standing battle with lung disease.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Charles A. Sullivan; five children, Charles and wife, Cathy, Sullivan, Kevin and wife, Nancy, Sullivan, Daniel and wife, Mary Connaughty-Sullivan, Karen Sullivan, and Kellie Sullivan; eight grandchildren, Ryan Sullivan, Katelyn Sullivan, Matthew Sullivan, Peter Sullivan, Megan Sullivan, Jason Krause, and Michael Krause; her two brothers, Francis and wife, Patricia, Stevenson and Donald Stevenson; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful neighbors and friends.

Donna is predeceased by Barbara Stevenson, wife of her brother Donald, and by Aaron Paton, son of her daughter-in-law, Mary.

Donna was born in Worcester, MA, on December 28, 1935. She and Charlie moved to Cape Cod upon retirement and enjoyed many years of fishing, boating and the beautiful beaches of the Cape, as well as hosting family every summer at their wonderful home. In 2010 Charlie and Donna moved to Midland to be near family.

Donna will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor. She was famous for her spaghetti and meatball suppers, as well as her amazing Swiss Chocolate Cake.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at St. James Church in Concord. Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 NC Hwy. 73 in Concord.
