Donnie Clyde Mauldin, age 65, of Albemarle, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Leslie Wray, will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle, on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Silver Springs Baptist Church. Military Honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Donnie was born on January 19, 1948, to the late Clyde Benton Mauldin and the late Roena Austin Mauldin. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Mauldin of the home; one daughter, Melissa “Moe†Mauldin of Albemarle; two step sons, JJ Brantley and Brian Brantley of the home; one brother, Bobby Mauldin of Lexington; four sisters, Gay Mauldin of Mocksville, Sib Mauldin of Mocksville, Carol Kirkman of Asheboro, and Sandy Goodlett of Pennsylvania. Donnie retired from Phillip Morris in 2009. Mr. Mauldin was a life long mechanic; he had a passion for working on cars and was the owner of Mauldin’s Garage. He was a sergeant in the Army and served during the Vietnam era. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Mauldin family.
