Dora Canfield

Dora Margery Canfield, 64, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Dora was born May 9, 1955 in Cortland, NY to the late Harold and Carrie Buckley.

Dora was lovingly raised in New York and loved snowmobiling.  One of her favorite places was the waterfall at Taughannock Falls State Park in Ithaca, NY.  She retired after serving as an LPN for 35 years.  Dora was always committed to family.  She enjoyed being a nurse chaperone with the music boosters when her kids were in band.  Dora cherished conversations with family.  She was always supportive and encouraging.  She will be remembered for giving the most thoughtful gifts and making "the best apple pie."  Dora enjoyed watching her three grandsons grow and play.  She adored talking to them about racing and Lightning McQueen.  Dora and Ray were Speedway Club Members for 26 years.  She loved attending races and watching them on TV.  Dora was an avid Steeler fan.  She loved collecting cat figurines and her dog, George, was very near and dear to her heart.

Survivors include beloved husband of 45 years, Raymond Lee Canfield; daughter, Trina Trull and husband, Robert, of Concord; son, Matthew Canfield and wife, Julianna of Fort Mill, SC; three grandboys, Noah Clint Raymond Trull and twins, Parker Raymond and Gregory Allen Canfield; brother, Roy Buckley and wife, Stacey, of Homer, NY; sister, Laura Stone and husband, Jonathon, of Alpharetta, GA; sister, Anna Buckley of Marathon, NY; one niece; and three nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will be on Saturday at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Greg Martin.
