Doris Gant

Doris Ann Talley Gant, 80 years of age, of Midland, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Carrington Place in Matthews. As Jesus reached His hand and said that it was time to go, she reached her hand and said, "here, here".

Doris was born December 17, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late William Farrel Talley and the late Blanche Levenia Talley. She was also preceded in death by great-grandson, Joziah Mynatt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Phil Bennett, will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Howell's Baptist Church Cemetery, 3800 Baptist Lane in Concord. At other times the family will be gathering at her home.

She is survived by her three children, Jan Harris and husband Dean of Midland, Carolyn Moore and husband Donnie of Stallings, and Darrel Gant and wife Barbara of Midland; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Simpson, Jared Harris, Tara Mynatt, Travis Moore, Eric Gant, Christi Gant and Samantha Gant; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Levenia Roden and husband Jack of Harrisburg.

Doris was a faithful member of Concord First Assembly. She worked at Stonewall Jackson as a baker, which was her passion. She made all of her children's wedding cakes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses on the second hall at Carrington Place for their compassionate care.
