Doris Garrell

Doris Marie Crayton Garrell, 89, of Stuarts Draft, VA, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021.

Doris was born February 19, 1932 in Oakboro, NC to the late Jacob Franklin Crayton and the late Dallie Eudy Crayton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Rentous Garrell, sisters, Alma Hinson, Elizabeth Troutman, and brothers, Thomas Crayton, Bill Crayton, John Crayton, and Ray Crayton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service follow on Saturday at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel Hartsell in Albemarle. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

Survivors include children, Rhonda Marie (Robert) Russell of Stuarts Draft, VA, Mahala Gay (Dixon) Pearsall of Little River, SC, Johnnie James "Jimmy" (Ann) of Locust, NC, Crayton Franklin (Louise) of Raleigh, NC, and George Todd (Ramona) of Alexandria, VA; and special nephew, Mark Lennon (Jean) of Leesburg, VA. Doris was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Doris enjoyed crafts such as needle work and quilting. She liked to keep her hands busy and also enjoyed canning. Most important to Doris was spending time with her family.
