Doris Herrin

Doris Lillian Maness Herrin, age 69 of 1292 N. Oak Ridge Rd., Oakboro, North Carolina, passed away on February 16, 2010 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle. Born in Stanly County on April 05, 1940, she is survived by her parents, William Robert Maness and Eunice Ferol Mabry Maness of Albemarle. She is also survived by her husband, Eugene James Herrin of the home. She was the beloved Mother of Debra Honeycutt and husband Kim of Albemarle; Timothy Herrin and wife Angelia of Monroe and Renee Rogers and husband Warren of Oakboro; sisters, Shirley Maness Smith and husband Larry of Albemarle and Donna Maness Burris and husband Rick of Norwood; grandchildren: Michelle Cole, Mark Honeycutt, Andrew Herrin, Laura Herrin, Meredith Honeycutt, Brad Rogers, Lydia Herrin, Josh Rogers, Hannah Herrin, Jessie Rogers and Caleb Herrin and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Angela Dawn Herrin. She was a homemaker and member of Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She loved cooking, canning, needlework and crafts. She will be remembered by many for the personal gifts that she made and gave to others. She also loved to take food to people in times of need. She left a legacy of love in her children and grandchildren. Her family and church were her life. She was a very caring and loving woman. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 06:00 PM 08:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. At other times, the family will meet at the home. Funeral service will be Friday, February, 19, 2010 at 4 pm at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church with a 30 minute state. Elder Eddie Fowler and Elder Newell Helms will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
