Doris Hoover

Doris Agatha Hoover, 90 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer's. She was born in Pickens County Alabama to the late Fletcher and Abby Freeman on March 1, 1925.
In 1945 she married James Herbert Hoover and later moved to Charlotte where she enjoyed gardening and raised three sons. Doris worked for Herff Jones, Inc. for 47 years.
She is survived by her brother, Clinton Freeman of Millport, AL; brother-in-law, Norris Hoover of Dixon, TN; her sons, Harlan (Kathy) of Concord, Richard (Joan) of Charlotte and Keith (Sharon) of Birmingham, AL; her six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 9:30am-11:00am at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel and will be officiated by long time friend, Rev. Mike Wall. Burial will follow at Back Creek Friends Church, 147 Back Creek Church Rd., Ashboro, NC 27205.
