Doris Horton

Doris Loraine Rex Horton, 84, of Concord, formerly of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday October 20, 2012, after a period of declining health. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jeff Rushing officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville, NC. Ms. Horton was born on October 21, 1927 in Rowan County, to the late Frank Rex and Mae Waller Rex. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Carmon Horton, Sr., in 1990; and two sisters, Lucille Evans and Shirley Fesperman. Ms. Horton is survived by her son, Joe Horton, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Concord; daughter, Lisa Harwell and husband, Bruce, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Caroline Harwell, Dale and Brian Furr; and three great grandchildren.
