Doris Kennedy

Doris Jane Austin Kennedy, 81, of Charleston, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Ashley River Plantation Assisted Living. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The graveside service, officiated by Rev. Keith Walters will be held at Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 4:00 pm. Mrs. Kennedy was born on April 25, 1931, to the late Floyd J. Austin and the late Patry Tucker Austin. She is also preceded in death by both her husband, Wade O. Kennedy and her son, David Scott Kennedy. She is survived by her son, James W. Kennedy and wife Linda of Charleston; two granddaughters, Sunni Caskey and Christy Kennedy; three great grandchildren, Tyler Caskey, Hannah Caskey and Ethan Caskey; two brothers, Ned Austin of Oakboro and Sherrill Austin of Oakboro; two sisters, Sylvia Whitley of Oakboro and Patsy Barbee of Oakboro.
