Doris Martin

Doris Kathleen Pope Martin, 79 years of age, of Stanfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 where her and her husband Doug were reunited.
Mrs. Martin was born April 29, 1936 in Coats, NC to the late Samuel Pope and the late Annie Mae Pope.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ray Martin in 2007; as well as her brothers Herbert, Leon, Charles, Aaron, Raymond and Johnny Pope.
Survivors include her daughter, Caroline Haigler and husband, Marshall; daughter, Gitania Kerns and husband, David; grandchildren, Joshua Haigler, Brittany Mathews and Zachary Kerns; great-grandchildren, Baylee and Reece Haigler, Addison and Honor Mathews; sisters, Alene Lewis and Barbara Gardner; brothers, Sherwood and Sammy Pope; and her fur baby, Maggie Lou.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens at 8901 Lawyers Road in Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and The Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
