Doris Newton

Doris  Newton, 76, of Concord, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mrs.Newton was born August 28, 1944 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Norman Austin and the late Lois Watkins Austin.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Tommy Lee Newton and son, Johnny Wayne Newton; granddaughter, Christy Lynn Newton; great grandson, Baxter Floyd Newton; sister, Helen Austin Yandle.

She loved going to church and being with Sunday school class, reading her bible daily and being with her family. Spending time at the beach talking to people walking their dogs.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Broadus Baptist Church. The funeral service will be follow in the sanctuary and be officiated by Reverend Rodney Quesenberry . Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Survivors include daughter, Tammy Kepley (Tim) of Concord, NC, Sons, Roger Newton and Jerry Newton (Kim) also of Concord. Also surviving are five grandchildren Chris, Roger Lee, Shane, Trent, Heath and five great grandchildren. And sister Nancy Lewis of Hickory NC.
