Doris Smith

Doris Elaine Glover Smith, 69 years of age, of Richfield, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle after a period of declining health. Doris was born July 10, 1944 in Stanly County to the late James Clyde Glover and the late Eunice Poplin Glover. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Eleisa Michelle Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. David Howard and Rev. Wayne Austin will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 24, 2014 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mountain Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle. Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Donnie Smith of Richfield; son, Brad Smith of Albemarle; and brother, Carol Glover and wife, Betty Sue of Norwood,. Doris enjoyed her work in the restaurant business. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to caregiver, Mary Dennis and Hospice of Stanly County for their loving care and patience during this difficult time.
