Doris York

Geneva York, 89 years of age, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Transitional Health in Kannapolis.

Geneva was born October 2, 1925 in North Carolina to the late Walsh Helms and Mary Bennett Helms. She was also preceded in death by husband, Roy York and son, David Bernard York.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow 4:00 pm at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Darrell Honeycutt, Rev. Jimmy Hall and Rev. Bob Harvey.

Survivors include son, Roy York and wife Judy of Concord. Two grandsons Doug McLaurin, Chris McLaurin and wife Claudia. Three great grandchildren Andy, Kyrsten and Cameron. One brother Robert Helms of Hickory and a number of nieces and nephews.

Geneva was a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to the Shriner's Children Hospital Greenville SC.
