Dorothy Almond

Dorothy Mae Burris Almond, 87 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Dorothy was born June 3, 1930 in Cabarrus County to the late Ivey Conard Burris and the late Alice Marie Martin Burris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Brady Jason Almond, in 2011, and her granddaughter, Karen Edwards Floyd, in 2009.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 7, at 4:00 pm at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Brian Medlin. A 30 minute state will be prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mineral Springs.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy (fiance, Gary Burleson) Fink of Oakboro; one son, Gerald Almond of Norwood; three grandchildren, Martha Tarleton, Kimberly Thompson, and David Edwards; ten great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
