Dorothy Benfield Faggart

Dorothy "Dot" Benfield Faggart, 93, of New London, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.

Dot was born July 24, 1931, in Kannapolis NC to the late R.C. Benfield and Katie P. Benfield. 

She was also preceded in death by husband and best friend for 68 years, Reverend William "Bill" Harold Faggart who died in 2017; daughter, Susan Diane Faggart in 2014; sister Helen B. Parrish; and her faithful chihuahua, Taz.

A graveside service will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00 am at Stanly Memorial Gardens located at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle in the Chapel of Memory, officiated by Reverend Kris Mares. 

Dot and Bill were married on June 17, 1949, and were blessed with a daughter, Diane. She and Bill served the Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church in Misenheimer, NC.

Survivors include nephews, Phil Faggart (Tammy) and Whit Gillon (Beverly).

Dot wanted to express thanks to Wendy Holbrook, Johnnie Harris, Patricia Kepley, Carol Brooks, and Bob and Margaret Lowdermilk, who were not only her caregivers but also special friends.
