Dorothy Drye

Dorothy Mae Oswald Drye, 96, formerly of White Lake, NC, died at home with her family by her side on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Born December 14, 1918 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Oswald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubron W. Drye; and sister, Jean Bokesh and husband Elmer.

Surviving are her nephews, Bob Drye and wife Margie of Concord, NC; Dr. Charles Bokesh and wife Charlotte of Mt. Airy, NC; sister-in-law, Juette Drye Brooks of Marshville, NC; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 7, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC 28107. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Philadelpha Baptist Church, 12568 Philadelphia Baptist Church Road, Stanfield, NC.

Mrs. Drye was a 1st Lt. of the Army Nurse Core and she served in World War II.
