Dorothy Eudy

Dorothy Jane Foster Eudy, 77, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Buck Canupp will officiate with Rev. Shelia Watkins assisting. Burial will follow at Harrisburg Baptist Church Cemetery, 6525 Morehead Road, Harrisburg, NC. At other times the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Becky Coley at 5810 Crayton Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC. Mrs. Eudy was born on August 24, 1934, to the late Andrew Jackson Foster and Laura Jeanette McEachern Foster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Ervin Eudy, Sr. and a son, Coy Ervin Eudy, Jr. She is survived by a son, Wayne Eudy of Concord; three daughters, Becky Coley and husband Dale of Mt. Pleasant, Jane Baker of Concord and Betty Starnes and husband Frankie of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Kathy Rusch, Michael Eudy, Christopher Baker, Ryan Baker, Laura Baker, Kaley Baker, Patrick Baker, Ranna Eudy; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bobby Boger. Dorothy served as a pianist in her church, Mt. Zion First Freewill Baptist Church. She also played the piano for several gospel groups including Southern Spirits.
