Dorothy Harrill

Dorothy Virginia Davis Harrill, of Mooresville, passed away February 18, 2011 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Chapel. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. Born in Cabarrus County on November 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Grady Davis and the late Esther Stallings Davis. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph E. Harrill, Jr. She loved making a wonderful home for her family and working with her yard and flowers. She was a loving mother and beloved wife. A graduate of Harrisburg High School, she attended Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC. She later received her South Carolina Real Estate License. While a 12 year member of W.I.C. Women in Construction in Atlanta, Ga. she worked as office manager for Henry C. Beck Construction. She graduated from Mitchell College of Statesville in 1998, receiving her CNAI and CNAII license. She was formerly employed by First Assembly of Concord and Discovery Place of Mooresville, NC as a CNA. She is survived by daughters; Patricia Harrill, Deborah Harrill; son, Joseph E. Harrill, III; grandson, Joseph E. Harrill, IV; and great grandson, Joseph E.Harrill, V. Memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
