Dorothy Kiker

Dorothy Ann Eury Kiker, 79 years of age, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Dot "Mama Dot" was born August 27, 1935 in Cabarrus County to the late Curtis Lee Eury and the late Laura Hatley Eury. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donnie James Kiker; brothers, Leroy, Marvin, and Joe Eury.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 32056 Herrin Grove Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Beau Linker. The burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be gathering at the home of her daughter, Roxane Almond.

She is survived by her daughter, Roxane Almond and husband Douglas of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Matt Almond and wife Kristy of Mt. Pleasant, and Brian Almond and wife Alyson of Concord; great-grandchildren, Trent, Gracin, Seth, Kaedyn, and Easton Almond; sisters, Edith Smith of Oakboro, Faye Hurlocker of Mt. Pleasant, Maye Tomkinson and husband James of Mt. Pleasant; and sister-in-law, Beulah Eury of Mt. Pleasant.

Dot was a faithful active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was also very active in her daughter's church, Bogers Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved quilting, gardening, and her grandbabies.
