Dorothy Marie Stilwell

Dorothy Marie Waldron Stilwell, 102, of Mount Gilead, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born July 18, 1922 in Delaware to the late Leonard Thomas Waldron and the late Mary Frances Keeley Waldron. 

She was also preceded in death by husband, John Stilwell, Jr. and son, Peter Stilwell.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Annunciation in Albemarle officiated by Father Fitzgibbons. Interment be held at the Arlington National Cemetery at later date.

Survivors include sons, John (Anne) Stilwell, III of Mount Gilead, NC, Michael (Deborah) Stilwell of Wigby Island, WA, Patrick Stilwell of Aurora, OR, and Timothy (Kelly) Stilwell of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, John (Meredith) Stilwell IV, Stephanie (Josh) Campbell, Kent (Alli) Stilwell, Samuel (Joanna) Stilwell, Elizabeth (Zerial) Hayles, and Ian (Laura) Stuart, Taylor Stilwell and Jessica Stilwell; and great-grandchildren, Finn, Brody, Miles, Devon, Piper, Graham, and Helen, Body, Collin, Jacob, Zane, and Zuri.

Dorothy loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed traveling and reading, especially mystery novels.
