Ms. Dorothy Mae Marshburn Weber, 83, of 310 Speedway Place NW, Concord, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 15, 2010. She was born on June 6, 1927 in Onslow County to the late William Nick Marshburn and the late Hazel Carter Marshburn. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Dorothy was a member of First Assembly. She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Weber Sr. and son, Frank Weber. She is survived by sons, John Weber Jr., Karl Weber, William Weber, and James Weber; daughters, Judy Fortner, Ann Weber, Marie W. Benton, and Jean Weber; brother, George Marshburn, of Durham; grandchildren, Debbie, Andy, and Tony Fortner, Jody Love, Angela Garrett, Barbara Eldridge, Edward Nick, Lisa, Dottie, and John Weber, Daniel and Jessica Benton, Christy, Cynthia, and Jenny Weber, and Michael Baker; 17 great grandchildren. During WWII, Dorothy was a volunteer dancer with the U.S.O. and a switchboard operator. She was retired from sales and a homemaker. She had a wonderful zest for life and held many interests such as fashion, jewelry, television, reading, news, especially current events, and dancing. She was very interested in people and was out going, loved to laugh, and held a wonderful sense of humor. She was also a fierce lover and supporter of animals.
