Dorothy "Dot" Untz

Dorothy Willene Furr Untz, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 on Sunday, Feb. 5, at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Feb. 5th at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Joshua Case officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Untz was born July 26, 1933, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late George David Furr & Ettra Little Furr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kenneth Untz and her sister, Rachel Furr. Survivors include daughters, Susan Untz Tadlock and husband, Greg, of Harrisburg and Patti Untz McGuire of Concord & grandchildren, Heather and Joshua Case, Amanda and Marty Strickland, James A. (Trey) Fisher Jr., Alana White, Emily Fisher and Bryan and Michelle Tadlock; great-grandchildren, Bella and Ben Case, Lexie Strickland, Eva and Eli White, Brycen and Arabella Fisher and Grant Tadlock; and great great grandchild, Braelynn Bowen.

Dot, as she was known by her friends, was a graduate of Odell High School. She was a homemaker & seamstress. She was a member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church for 71 years.
