Douglas Jones

Douglas Jones, age 64 of New London, passed away on Friday, May 06, 2011. Funeral services will be Monday, May 9, 2011 at Prospect Baptist Church at 1pm, with Pastor Stony Benfield and Rev Gary Pinion officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall. Mr. Jones was born on April 21, 1947 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Walter Bascomb Jones and Frances Dees Jones. A member of Prospect Baptist Church, he was owner and operator of Doug’s Electronic and Enterprises and was an employee of DSI at Stanly Regional Airport. He also served in the US Navy Guard for 17 years and in the Air Force Guard for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Donna Ann Stoupe Jones of the home; 1 son, Alexander Jones of Raleigh; step children, Monica Faust, Michelle Hahn, Thomas Culp; brothers, Donald Jones, of Albemarle, Walter Jones, Jr. of Oklahoma City; 1 grandchild, Emma Grace Faust.
