Douglas Eugene McCall

Douglas Eugene McCall, 72, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home.

Doug was born May 12, 1951, in North Carolina to the late Jack Wallace McCall and the late Christene Tucker McCall. He was also preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Allen McCall.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 2:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church in Locust officiated by Dr. Doyle Holder and Rev. Brian Bolding. Burial will follow at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery at 617 Bethel Church Rd., Locust.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Lawana Thomas McCall of the home; children, Ryan Ford McCall (Kathie) of Locust, NC, Alicia McCall Morrow (Matthew) of Locust, NC; grandchildren, Mason Ford McCall (Briley), Haley Watts (Alex), Noah Kiser, Colby Kiser, Dylan Morrow, and Lilah Morrow; great-grandchildren, Brantley Watts; siblings, Jack McCall (Vicki), Mickey McCall, Ronald McCall (Pam), Sandra Baucom (Dennis), Tommy McCall (Cathy), and Veronica Whitley (Chris).
 
Doug was a great family man and loved his family more than anything. He loved his church family as well. He was proud of his career as an electrician and truly enjoyed it. Doug also enjoyed good food, movies, and shagging in his earlier days as well as 60s, 70s, and beach music. He loved to travel with his wife, especially to the Outer Banks and Winslow, Arizona. Although Doug had been sick for several years, he fought a good fight.
