Dr. Phyllis Houghton

Dr. Phyllis Margarite Gore Houghton, 95 years of age, of Davidson, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at The Pines at Davidson.

Phyllis was born March 7, 1919 in Wayne County, Michigan to the late George John Wagner and the late Maude May McDonald Wagner. She was also preceded in death by husbands, John Robert Gore and John "Jack" Houghton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, Monday, March 24, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. A graveside service officiated by Rev. John T. Bryant will follow at 1:00 PM at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle.

She is survived by sons, John Lawton Gore and wife, Jean of Conyers, GA, Randall "Randy" Gore and wife, Colean of Bahama, NC and David Wagner Gore and wife, Jan of Landis, NC; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28207.
