Dwight Griffin

Dwight Austin Griffin, 82 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.
Dwight was born October 6, 1931 in Union County to the late George Vann Griffin and the late Gertha Ellen Austin Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his son, Vann Griffin; an infant daughter; brother, Donald Griffin; and sister, Ercel McManus.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Elder Larry Austin. The burial will be at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery, 7920 Crooked Creek Rd. in Monroe, following the service.
He is survived by his sons, Lane Griffin and wife Wendy, and Alan Griffin; granddaughter, Shea Griffin; and sister, Pauline Funderburk, all of Monroe.
