Earl Speight

Earl Vance Speight, 87, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020.

Mr. Speight was born May 22, 1933 to the late Charlie William and Bertha McLester Speight. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Speight Coleman; brothers, Gad Speight, Raphu Speight, Ruel Speight, Max Speight; sister, Bernice Burleson.

Earl served in the United States Air Force and retired from Michelin after many years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #348 and a Scottish Rite Mason. Earl enjoyed many things in life, such as, woodworking, horses, and sports. He was a member of South Albemarle Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 11:00 am, at Porter Baptist Church Cemetery, at 16562A US 52 South, Norwood, officiated by Rev. Danny Laws.

Earl is survived by wife of 64 years, Wilma K. Speight; daughter, Lisa (Jackie) Lowder; granddaughter, Talia (Patrick) Hutton; great-granddaughter, Katia Jade Hutton; brothers, C.J. Speight, Keith (Sue) Speight; sisters, Helen Teeter, Blanche Almond; brother-in-law, Joel (Carolyn) Kimrey; numerous nieces and nephews.
