Edgar Lee Lemmons, 80 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle.

Edgar was born July 25, 1937 in North Carolina to the late Elder Edgar Lemmons and the late Stella Lucille Lemmons.
He was also preceded in death by son, Eddie Edgar Lemmons, grandson Joe Lemmons and sister Elsie Lemmons.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Cottonville Baptist Church Cemetery at 4888 Plank Road, Norwood.

He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Burris Lemmons of Albemarle, daughter, Sherry Lea Lemmons and companion Bill Cameron of New London; son, Jack Eugene Lemmons and wife Tammy of Norwood; sister, Sylvia Lemmonds of Albemarle; grandchildren, Keisha Everhart Smith, John Lemmons, Eddie Lee Lemmons, Heather Lemmons Hildreth and husband Mark , Jennifer Harman Powell and husband Tyler; great- grandchildren, Breanlynn Marie Davison, Bianca Davison and M. J. Hildreth.

Dad was a member of Stanly County Car Club, he loved fast hotrods and his many friends. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his pan head Harley Davidson with his brothers. Dad was in the Army National Guard for four years. He was a member of the " Sons of Confederate Veterans" with many of his brothers and friends. He retired from Collins and Aikman Corp. in Albemarle after 43 years of service.
