Edith Victoria Reade Baker, 99 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
Edith was born June 26, 1916 in Durham to the late Robert Percival Reade and the late Lila Susan Reade.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Major John A. Baker, Jr.; and two sisters, Marion Thompson and Lela Lansdell "Dealie" Reade Price.
The family will have a private graveside memorial service at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, Duke University Road, Durham.
Survivors include two sons, Reade (Sue) Baker of Troy, NC, and Alex (Suzette) Baker of Airmont, NY; four grandchildren, Jessica Edith Baker Heim, James Reade Baker, Julia Blair Baker, and Cybele Alexandera Baker.
