Edith Cavell Cole, 80, of Lake Tillery, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Cavell was born March 21, 1944 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late William Robert Adkins and the late Edith Cavell Morton Adkins.

She was also preceded in death by husband, David Wayne Cole, Sr. and sister, Beverly Shue.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Friday, March 14, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.

Survivors include sons, David Wayne Cole, Jr. of Mount Gilead, NC and William Robert Cole (Leslie) of Oakboro, NC; grandchildren, Dillion Cole, Billy Peyton Cole, and Cruz Cole; sisters, Jane (Dick) Cole of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Billie Anne Kerr of Durham, NC; nephews, Dr. Jeff Barker of Harrisburg, NC; and Frankie (Sheryl) Johnson of Raleigh, NC and niece Cindy (Bryan) Hoegg of Holly Springs, NC. and honorary family members, Conner Whitley and furry friend Ozzy.

Family was the most important thing to Cavell and she especially enjoyed being "Granma". Her favorite hobby was cooking for her family and taking care of them. She also loved spending time on the lake and at Myrtle Beach. She was a hard worker her whole life and also worked hard raising her family on her own.

Memorials may be made to Colonial Animal Hospital, Locust, NC
