Edith Edwards

Edith Shull Edwards, age 92 of Kannapolis, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Big Elm Retirement Center in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from10:30am until 12:00pm.. The funeral service will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor David Hayes of First Evangelical Methodist Church of Kannapolis. Burial will be at West Concord Cemetery, Concord, NC. Mrs. Edwards was born on July 30, 1918, to the late Henry Shull and the late Martha Shull. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thompson Bridges Edwards; daughters, Patsy Carpenter and Joanne Crump; grandson, Coleman Hawkins. She is survived by daughters, Jeanie Parker and husband Rick of Kannapolis, NC, Rhonda Jones and husband James of Covington, GA; sons, Arbeth Edwards and wife Mary of Cherryville, NC, Tommy Edwards and wife Tracy of Concord, NC; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 17 great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards retired from Cannon Mills where she worked as a winder. She is a member of South Concord Church of God.
