Edith Harrington

Edith Rushing Harrington, 85 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Harrington was born August 17, 1932 in Union County to the late J.C. Rushing and the late Eunice Little Rushing. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allan Helms of Oakboro, four brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle and at other times at Steve and Sherry Barbees home. The funeral service will be on Friday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Steve Barbee. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery in Oakboro.

Survivors include son, Danny Helms and his wife Terry of Monroe; daughters, Sherry Barbee and husband Steve of Oakboro and Debbie Little and husband Mike of Oakboro; son, Chuck Helms and wife Debbie of Kannapolis; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sisters. Mildred Broadaway, Lucille Burris, Betty Goins, Linda Witmore, and Donna Price; and brothers, Eddie "Pete" Rushing and Barry Rushing.
