Edna Britt

Edna Garner Britt, 92 years old, of Midland, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Beaulah Elizabeth Hammond Garner, born May 13, 1927.

Edna enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crocheting.  She loved cooking for her late husband, Judson C. Britt and her children.  She was a wonderful wife and mother, and enjoyed reminiscing about all her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson C. Britt, Sr. and her first born son, Clyde A. Suggs, Jr.  She was the mother of Dr. Ted Suggs of Concord, Richard (Sherry) Suggs of Mt. Pleasant, Douglas (Carlotta) Suggs of Concord, Rhonda (Jim) Worth of Midland, Patti Suggs of Charlotte, and Jerry (Kim) Suggs of Mt. Pleasant.  Edna was a loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from  2:00 - 2:45 pm, Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Rd., Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Rick Whittier. Burial will conclude in the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Community Hospice and Clear Creek Nursing Home for their many visits, prayers, and encouraging words, especially during this past week.
