Edna Motley

Edna Mae Motley, 93 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at her home. Miss Motley was born May 11, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Jake Clarence Motley and the late Minnie Simpson Motley. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Ruby Beaver, and other sisters, Beatrice Hutchinson, Ida Hatchell, Bertha Funderburk; brothers, John Motley, Clarence Motley and Walter Motley. She worked for Cannon Mills for 42 years before retiring in 1984. She was a lifetime member of Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm, Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Matt Broadway will be at 3:30 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 at Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church, 11200 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. She is survived by her special nephew, Danny Hutchinson and wife Jean and many other family members and special friends. Pallbearers are Dale Tucker, Andrew Jamison, William Ritchie, Larry Baker, Ron Thomas, and Richard Lowery.
