Edna "Melven" Helms, 87 went home to be with Jesus, Sunday, October 16, at Pruitt Health at Union Point in Monroe.
Melven was born on November, 19, 1934, to the late Fred & Maude Greene.
She was retired from Sun Valley High School. Melven was a member of Hopewell Baptist. She was a member of the Mary's Class and worked in the food pantry. Melven sang alto for the Proclaimers Quartet for ten years and also the church choir. She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Billy Jackson Helms; two sisters, Margie Medlin and Georgia Clontz; three brothers, Vance Greene, Lonnie Greene, and Joe Greene. Survivors, sister, Margaret Hurst; daughters, Jan Doby (Benny), Lynn Baucom; and son Jackie Helms (Annette); four grandchildren, Kristy Stouffer (Jeff), Scott Manshack (Amy), Heather Rogone (John), Hunter Baucom (Katelyn); six great-grandchildren, Abby, Haley, Nolan Manshack, John, Mason Rogone and Caroline Baucom.
A special thank you to the dear staff at Pruitt Health, that loved and took special care of Melven. Also, the hospice staff that aided her.
