Edris Branford

Edris Gloria Branford, 87, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Avante. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Jay Burkardt, will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Edris was born on February 7, 1925, to the late Isaac Armstrong and the late Wilhelmina Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Marva Moore. Before her retirement, Edris worked as a dental hygienist in London and New York. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mr. Uldrick Branford; two sons, Dr. Kester Branford and wife, Ann Branford of Florida and Mr. Kelwyn Branford and wife, Karen Branford of New York; a daughter, Dr. Diane Gaskin and husband, Dr. Steve Gaskin of North Carolina; a son-in-law, Mr. Wyllis Moore, husband of the late Mrs. Marva Moore; nine grandchildren, Dr. Suzanne Moore Cowan, Mrs. Kesana Branford Durand, Mr. Andrew Moore, Mr. Karim Branford, Ms. Jenya Gaskin, Ms. Deeona Gaskin, Ms. Kiandra Branford, Mr. Seve Gaskin and Mr. Christeon Gaskin; and one great-grandchild, Kaleigh Branford.
