Edward Blue

Edward Garland Blue, 75, of Concord, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. His daughter Sabrina Eudy, and son Shane Blue were by his side holding his hand when he peacefully passed.

He was born September 26, 1946 in North Carolina to the late Garland and Pearl Blue in Charlotte. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sutton Blue.

He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School. He served his country in the Army from 1966 until 1969 and fought in the Vietnam War. Then became a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Officer from 1969 until he retired in 1996. In 1988 he and his wife (Linda) opened Grandma’s Country Kitchen. He was a mason with of the Cabarrus Lodge #720. He was a great father to his children and a great husband to his wife, he loved us all and loved his grandchildren. He loved going to the beach,shagging, and going on cruise ships. He also loved going to The Harding/West Mecklenburg reunion every year at North Myrtle Beach.

Edward is survived by his loving children Sabrina Eudy(Billy); Shane Blue (Stephanie); Greg Sutton (Jodi); Brian Sutton(Joy); his sister Ann Tolliver(Ken Benbow) and brother Alan Blue(Tina); he was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Brianna Poirier(Jason); Harlie Blue, Ali Blue, Nick Sutton and Liam Sutton. Also one great granddaughter Jeslynn Poirier that will be here soon.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, 1:00pm-2:15pm at Hartsell Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Doug Hardin, officiating.Burial will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.
