Edward Hatley

Edward William Hatley, age 74, of Oakboro, NC, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at CMC-NE. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, December 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Berea Baptist Church, Stanfield, NC, officiated by Rev. Brad Pfiffer and Rev. Fred Waples. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Hatley was born in Stanly County on December 23, 1936, to the late Clinton William Hatley and the late Ora Odessa Lambert Hatley. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Evelyn Griffin Hatley of the home; step sons, David Yow and wife Amy of Stanfield and Michael Yow of Shelby; step daughter, Michele Burleson of Concord; son, Todd Hatley of Charlotte; daughter, Amy Loesch and husband Douglas of Charlotte; brother, Charles Hatley and wife Joyce of Oakboro; sister, Elizabeth Culp and husband Eric of New London; and Aunt Cleona Tucker of Albemarle; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
