Edward Morgan

Edward L. Morgan, 91, of Monroe, NC died Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017 at his grandson's home in Monroe with his family by his side.

Mr. Morgan was born April 27, 1926 in Brevard, NC to the late Ernest L. and Elsie (Johnson) Morgan Rice.
He was also preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years in 2004, the late Doris J. (Hogoboom) Morgan and his twin sons, David and Daniel in 1953.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel with Douglas Fincher officiating. At the family's request there will be a private family burial at a later date.

Survivors include his three loving daughters, Carol M. Gordon, Melinda Sue (Jeffrey) Myers both of Monroe, NC and Mary M. (Darrell) Simpson of Indian Trail, NC; two sons, W. Edward (Tina) Morgan of Charlotte, NC and Michael F. Morgan and his fiancée, Nancy C. Dowd of Monroe, NC. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Morgan to the donors choice.

Ed will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and many friends. May God grant him eternal rest.
