Edward Thompson

Edward Lewis Thompson, 76, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Edward was born February 2, 1944 in Concord to the late Marshall and Helen Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thompson, and his sister, Shirley Starnes.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:30 am, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 11:30am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord in the chapel officiated by Rev. John Johnson and Rev. Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley Tomlin Thompson of the home, daughter, Tonya (Greg) Schueneman, son, Darin (Jenna Campbell) Thompson, and grandchildren, Jenna (Jordan Connell) Schueneman, Cody (Olivia) Schueneman, Will Thompson, and Josie Thompson.

He was married to the love of his life Shirley for 58 years; their romance started when he sent her love notes and Baby Ruth bars rolled up in the newspapers he delivered. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping with his family, in no particular order... except fishing first. He was dearly loved by his family and friends, he was a hard worker and was proud to provide for his family and leave a legacy for his grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church (where Edward was a lifelong member) for the Senior Adult ministry, 1069 Central Drive, NW, Concord, NC 28027.
