Elaine Knight Rollins, 83 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.
Elaine was born October 21, 1932 in South Carolina to the late Marion and Bell S. Kirkley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband in 1989, Edgar Brooks Knight, Sr., and second husband in 2013 Gerald Rollins; three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Roy Smith. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Freedom Drive, Charlotte.
Survivors include her two sons, Edgar B. Knight, Jr.& wife, Sharon of Concord, Dale Knight & wife, Patsy of Taylorsville; her six grandchildren, Cody Pennell & wife, Bobbie, Jonathan Knight & wife, Adrianne, Kelly Womack, Jacob Felts, Joshua Felts & wife, Miranda and Joseph Felts; five great grandchildren, Jacob Pennell, Carly, Hadley and Brinley Womack and Brantley Felts.
Elaine would have said this next message with her loving smile and beautiful eyes. "I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found peace at the close of the day."
