Elaine Wishon

Elaine Miller Wishon, 92, of Concord, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 27, 2010 at CMC NorthEast. She was born on September 5, 1918 in Cabarrus County to the late Carl John and Jenny Barnhardt Miller. She is also preceded in death by brothers, George Jacob Miller, Charles Banes Miller, and Hal Carlton Miller; sisters, Josephine Majell Miller Melville and Katherine Miller Martin. Mrs. Wishon was a life time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1937. She served as a former Cub Scout den mother at First Presbyterian Church in Concord. During WWII, Elaine worked in the defense industry in Baltimore, MD and Concord, NC. After the war, she married her husband Dallas Wishon, whom passed away January 10, 2001. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 10:30 until 11:30 am. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Mark J. Ericson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her son, Hal Wishon and wife, Kim, of Concord; daughter, Carol Wishon, of Concord; grandchildren, David and Brett Wishon; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her special caregiver and niece, Joyce Hardin. The family would like to thank the staff of First Assembly Living Center for the special love and attention that was given to Mrs. Wishon while under their care.
