Elber Jack Stroud

Elber “Jack” Stroud, of Concord, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 90.
Jack was born on January 2, 1934, at his parent’s Cook’s Crossing home to Brad Houston Stroud and Ruth Morrison (maiden name). He was a lifetime resident of Cabarrus County and graduate of Winecoff High School. He loved music and was a member of Concord’s Knights of Song. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Jeanlee Trexler Stroud, after returning to Concord following his Navy Service. They were happily married for sixty-five years as he was a faithful devoted husband. He was the proud father of Janice Stroud-Bickes.
Jack worked as a photoengraver in Charlotte, North Carolina. He, along with his wife and daughter, enjoyed raising, training and showing many champion Old English Sheepdogs. He always planted a garden, enjoyed fishing and was an active member of Crossroads Church and Cabarrus County’s Veterans Coalition. Jack’s faith was an essential part of his life and was reflected in his kind and warm character, humor and personal integrity.
The family will receive at 10:15 am on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Crossroads Church located at 220 George W Liles Pkwy NW, Concord, NC 28027. A church service with Military Honors will be held immediately following at 11:00 am. The service will be officiated by Rev. Lenny Stallings and Rev. Bobby Dionne.
